Our film festival is gradually becoming a powerful professional platform for the exchange of the opinions on the most topical issues of student and debut films, as well as the issue of film education. It is in the works of students and debut films that a new style is born today, that timeless subjects get a fresh breath and that new images of the time emerge.
The program of the festival is always special, because “Bastau” is a review of student works in a variety of genres of short films and feature-length debuts.
“Bastau” is primarily aimed at the young filmmakers. Today, when there is a huge and sincere interest in the national filmmaking in Kazakhstan, and first of all to the creative work of young filmmakers, who are making their first independent steps, our festival is in demand as never before.
We connect the future of the national cinema first of all with a new generation of young filmmakers and they prove it with new, bright, talented and original films – winners of the most prestigious international film festivals of the world.
