Autobiography

Young Rakib, whose father is in prison and whose brother has gone abroad to work, works as a servant in a vacant mansion owned by Purna, a retired general whose family the Rakiba family has served for centuries in a rural Indonesian town. After Purna returns home to start his campaign, Rakeeb becomes attached to an old man who becomes his close mentor and father figure. Becoming an assistant to Poorna, he finds his calling in work and life. When Poorna’s campaign poster is vandalized one day, Rakib has no hesitation in tracking down the culprit, starting an escalating chain of violence…
